RADLETT HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY

2021 Flower Show and Exhibition

Saturday September 4. Vision Hall
Photography by LARK MAXTON and DIVAD DLAWSO
Thank you all for your invaluable assistance with the show, both setting up, helping during and cleaning up afterwards. Magnificent effort by one and all and a thoroughly successful day. It was better than I had dared to expect and I think the one way system worked really well.

We had approximately 200 visitors, the teas made £320 profit, the auction made £80 and we collected £200 on the door. As some people paid for entry at the tea stand the numbers attending are based on the names and phone numbers taken at the door. At times it was so busy they were queueing into the car park.
We have had an unprecedented number of compliments and I think all those who attended thoroughly enjoyed themselves. It was great to be able to mix again and we had several new exhibitors which is encouraging.

And we solved the two big mysteries, the owners of the winning garden dahlias and the flapjack class, neither of which had a name on the card. They were both owned by our hard working 'stand in' Show Secretary. I guess she had a lot on her plate as it were. I think she did a brilliant job under a lot of pressure. Special thanks to you Jane.
