2024 Delrow Garden Walkabout
Sunday 7th July
All members and their friends are invited to come to Delrow House in Patchett’s Green on Sunday 7th July between 2pm and 5pm for tea, scones, cake, a natter and a wander round the extensive gardens.
Delrow House is part of the Camphill Village Trust which provides a range of services to adults with Learning Disabilities and Autism. Ten volunteers from the Radlett Horticultual Society work in the part of the garden known as the Social Farm on Friday mornings and this is where the teas will be served. We have three large polytunnels, an enormous greenhouse, large herbaceous areas and raised vegetable beds – all well worth inspecting. Some of our volunteers will be present along with Jane Poyser and her team who will provide the teas as at the garden walkabouts. There are two entrances, one off Summerhouse Lane and one off Hillfield Lane close to the junction with Summerhouse Lane. Both will be marked with signs ‘RHS event’. Parking is throughout the site, just keep going until you find a suitable place. If you park near the big white house just keep walking uphill and you will find the Social Farm. All proceeds will be donated to Delrow so we would very much like a voluntary donation of perhaps £2 to £2.50 per person in addition to whatever tea and cake you wish to buy. We look forward to welcoming you all to Delrow House. |
